  I agree with the previous post. On all aspects. Hundred percent. Nothing changed or paraphrased. The worst part is the principal where she can’t speak a word English and usually has different understandings.

  My son has started going to this nursery, the new one that has opened close to the Sultan Center. We are paying double the rate of other local nurseries. This school is the absolute worst one around, and I have many reasons to say this: 1. Firstly the name "American" doesn't mean anything at all; it doesn't mean the teachers are American, the management is American, and definitely does not mean that the curriculum is American. Bottom line, there is nothing American about this school, which is misleading at best, and at worst its a fraud. 2. The teachers are not native English language teachers. They had a Romanian teacher for the first few months, and its mainly run by Philipina and Omani staff. The Egyptian principal can barely speak or type a sentence of proper English. 3. We were promised extra curricular activities for the kids and offered flexible timings, which were not delivered. Soon after parents registered and enrolled their kids here, they decided to break it to us that kids have to be picked up at 12:30pm even if you had paid for them to be there till 2:00pm. Again, their excuse is Ministry for everything. We were offered a refund for the mess-up but it was already too late. I would have much preferred to take my child elsewhere, if I'd known from the start. They should have known these were ministry rules before they advertised the misleading timings. 4.The swimming pool appears to be just for show, they have never had a single swimming lesson since the school year began in September. That was the main reason I put my son there, because he loves swimming. 5. So many times when I come to pick him up, the kids are sitting around watching videos on the laptop. Videos should not be shown unless they are short video clips for educational purposes. As parents, we can put videos for our kids at home and that is not the purpose of sending them to school. If they are tired studying all day, let them play with toys in the afternoon, not play videos for them. 6. The school remains open in December for traditional school holidays, and decides to close down in January and February when everyone returns from holidays. I could go on and on, but all in all, please do your child and yourself a favor and don't enroll here.
